This higher jungle or “nuvoselva” (misty forest) is present in our country, like a wedge from the north including Salta and Jujuy and it enlarges – with some discontinuity – on Tucuman and Catamarca.

The climate is warm and humid, with abundant rainfall that can reach 2,500 mm per year, concentrated in the summer season. The great humidity, caused by the evaporation in winter months, produces a foggy environment most of the year.

The highs reach from 400 until 3,000 meters above sea level, with mountain ranges facing from the North to the South and light slopes in the east.

This unique environment preserves real endangered species, like the Jaguar (Leo onca) a many kinds of birds.

This circuit can be combined with tours to the “Quebrada de Humahuaca” and Calchaquies Valleys; two environments with singular species, which some of them are endemic species.
