                    Trogoniformes


       TROGONIDAE        FAMILY DID NOT PAMPEANA

    Trogon. They are birds jungle. Three species in Argentina. Colorful plumage. Beak short, robust and jagged. Wings and short legs, the latter with two fingers forward and two backwards. The queue is long, wide and graduated. Liabilities. Flight short and heavy.

     Nest in hollow trees, where they 2 to 4 egg whites. They feed on fruit, leaves and insects.


         SURUCUÁ TROGON: Trogon surrucura

   
       It inhabits jungles of northeastern Argentina.
