   TYTONIDAE

   Barn Owl. A single species in Argentina. Night. Voice strong. Cara white facial disc with heart-shaped. Beak straight, elongated. Legs long emplumadas. Fingers covered by "bristles" with claws.

     They feed on rodents, reptiles and insects. Nest in buildings or trees. Multiple egg whites.


    STRIGIDAE

    Owls. Most species are nocturnal or crepuscular. Flight silent. Head large, with some species "ears". Hard facial rounded. Beak short, curved. Legs short, feathered fingers, with claws.

     Nest in hollow trees, caves or on the floor. The eggs are white and almost spherical.  They feed on small mammals, birds, insects, etc.
