       NYCTIBIDAE              FAMILY DID NOT PAMPEANA

    Potoos.  Two species in Argentina. From nocturnal habits. We pose a vertically on dry logs. Mimetics. Head big beak short and wide at the base, without Vibrissae. Wings and long tail. Legs and short neck. The eyes, very big, shine in the dark.

     They feed on insects that hunt in flight. Nest in extremes of logs, which put an egg stained. Incubated in an upright position.


      CAPRIMULGIDAE

    Nighthawaks, Nightjars. Fifteen species in Argentina. From nocturnal habits or sunset. Mimetics. Head large beak short and wide at the base. Wings and long tail. Legs and short neck. The eyes glow in the dark (red). Flight surprise and irregular.

     They hunt insects in flight. Nest in the soil, which placed two eggs stained.
