From the center of the country, Mendoza, San Luis, La Pampa and Buenos
to throughout southern Patagonia.
Yellow with olive back and rump. Blue shirts. Blue olive tail.
Chest dark brown with white spots of varying size. Ventral
yellow with red center. Teenagers acquire quickly
adult coloration, with shorter tail.
Nests on cliffs, in large colonies. El Condor beach has the largest
colony of this species, and is also the largest colony of parrots in
Cyanoliseus patagonus andinus
Northwest race, inhabits the Andes
from Salta to Mendoza downtown, foothills and the
provinces of northwestern Argentina.
